ROSS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – An assault suspect is dead after he was shot by Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies during a 10-hour standoff in Ross Township on Friday.
Police responded to a call from a woman who said he pointed a gun at her earlier in the day and the man’s father told them his son was in the middle of a mental health crisis.
The suspect shot at them twice, with deputies returning fire both times and hitting him around 4:20 p.m. Friday.
It happened at a home near East Augusta Drive and North 46th Street.
No names have been released.
