BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek police arrested a 45-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman early on Saturday morning after they were called to a business on Capital Avenue SW for a report of a man with a gun.
Dispatchers then took a call from a 39-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl, both from Battle Creek, who said they were assaulted by two employees of the same business when they stopped to use the restroom.
They told police the woman hit one of them several times in the back of the head with a blunt object, and he pointed a handgun at them, hitting them in their faces with the gun multiple times.
He then fired several shots as they fled, with one of the shots breaking a window at the business.
She stayed at the scene and was arrested, while he was arrested later. The handgun has not been recovered.
Both suspects are facing felony charges.
