BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 23-year-old Homer man who suffered medical emergency was hospitalized after his vehicle crashed into and damaged two garages on Riverside Drive near Lakeshire Drive in Battle Creek Monday afternoon.
The Battle Creek Police Department says just after 1:00 p.m. the man experienced a seizure while driving south on Riverside Drive. His vehicle crossed the centerline and left the road after passing Lakeshire Drive, then traveled through front yards on the east side of the street.
The vehicle crashed through a chain-link fence, struck a berm, and became airborne. It went through the front and side of an attached garage before partially entering the garage of the next house to the south.
The driver was unresponsive at the scene but had strong vital signs. LifeCare Ambulance transported him to Bronson Battle Creek, where medical staff stabilized him before his transfer to Bronson Kalamazoo.
No one else was injured.
