DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The average price for a gallon of gas in Michigan has spiked, jumping 28¢ in the past week.
Triple-A Michigan says the average is now up to $4.31, 6¢ more than last month and $1.04 higher than last year.
A 15-gallon tank now costs $65 on average around the state.
Michigan’s highest price is $4.35 in Ann Arbor and Jackson, and the lowest price is $4.22 in Traverse City.
In southwest Michigan, Van Buren County has the lowest price at $4.24, followed by Cass County at $4.29, St. Joseph County at $4.30, Allegan County at $4.32, Calhoun County at $4.33, Berrien and Kalamazoo counties at $4.34, and Barry County is the highest at $4.38.
