KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Canadian wildfire smoke is thick enough to be very unhealthy in Michigan’s western Upper Peninsula and “unhealthy for sensitive groups” in the eastern Upper Peninsula and the entire Lower Peninsula.
There are over 800 wildfires burning in Canada right now, impacting over two-point-three-million acres.
Minnesota and New York have also issued air quality alerts and warnings.
The Mackinac Bridge was completely obscured by the wildfire smoke yesterday afternoon.
