KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Today is Michigan’s primary election day.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. for voters to make their choices for the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, state Senate, state House, governor, and millage decisions in some counties.
In Kalamazoo County, Metro Transit is asking voters to approve a millage renewal.
Voters are also being asked to approve a countywide childcare millage.
The Democratic U.S. Senate primary between Congresswoman Haley Stevens and Dr. Abdul El-Sayed has drawn national attention, with today’s winner to face former Congressman Mike Rogers in November to succeed Senator Gary Stevens.
The race for governor in the Democratic Party is between Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson, and in the Republican Party it’s between Congressman John James and businessman Perry Johnson.
