LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A bill introduced in the state Senate would ban social media for anyone younger than 16-years-old in Michigan.
Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt of Van Buren County sponsored the bill and says multiple studies have shown “social media is a threat to the mental and physical health of our children.”
He adds it leads to anxiety, depression, self-harm, sleep loss, suicide, and more.
Nesbitt says officials can’t keep ignoring the problem or approving “half measures.”
