DEARBORN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The average price of a gallon of gas in Michigan continues to rise quickly.
Triple-A Michigan says the state’s average price is up 85¢ from last week to $4.87, $1 more than last month and $1.65 more than last year.
A 15-gallon tank of gas costs $73 on average in Michigan, $22 more than the high price last year set in August.
The state’s most expensive gas is in Benton Harbor at $4.94, and the lowest price is in Marquette at $4.65.
In southwest Michigan, Calhoun County has the lowest average price at $4.87, followed by Allegan County at $4.90, Berrien County at $4.92, Van Buren County at $4.93, Cass and Kalamazoo counties at $4.94, St. Joseph County at $4.95, and Barry County at $4.96.
