BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a home fire in the 100 block of North Hinman Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m. Monday.
They arrived and found a two-story home fully involved, with fire throughout the structure and extending through the roof.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
Firefighters had to attack it from outside the home using specialized equipment capable of delivering large amounts of water. That was due to the size of the blaze.
The fire was extinguished in just over an hour.
No injuries were reported.
The home was declared a total loss and the Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
