Aug 27 (Reuters) – Australia’s Qantas Airways reported a 13.8% drop in its full-year pre-tax underlying profit on Thursday, hurt by surging jet fuel prices due to the Middle East conflict that outweighed gains from higher fares.
The country’s flag carrier reported underlying profit before tax of A$2.06 billion ($1.48 billion) for the year ended June 30, compared with A$2.39 billion reported a year ago.
That slightly beat the Visible Alpha consensus estimate of A$2.00 billion.
