COLDWATER, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – 20-year-old Valmir Djempsley has been arraigned on an open murder charge in the death of co-worker Brandon Vasquez-Chavez.
Djempsley was charged yesterday for the stabbing death of the 21-year-old that happened Monday night.
The two were working at Clemens Food Group near I-69 and they got into an argument, with the suspect accusing Vasquez-Chavez of using his knife.
Djempsley told police through a Haitian Creole translator they did argue about the knife and claims the victim head-butted him after giving his knife back to him.
Witnesses told police they saw the suspect chasing the victim and lunging toward his back.
