KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A domestic dispute that escalated into a felonious assault in the 1100 block of Woodward Avenue in Kalamazoo resulted in an increased police presence and
temporary road closures Tuesday.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety say preliminary information indicates the incident began as a felonious assault during which a firearm was discharged. No injuries have been reported.
A 32-year-old male has been taken into custody, and officers have recovered a firearm believed to be connected to the incident. Officers remained on scene through the afternoon conducting a search of a residence as the investigation continued.
KDPS says currently there is no known connection between the incident and nearby polling locations or election activities.
