KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The new Western Michigan University vice president and athletic director is Alex Gary, who will succeed Dan Bartholomae.
Gary has been the deputy athletic director for external relations at Southern Methodist University for the past year and was the athletic director at Western Carolina University for five years before that.
President Russ Kavalhuna says he has the “experience and values” the university was searching for with the new AD.
Gary will be introduced to the community on Thursday.
Bartholomae left WMU to become Michigan State University’s AD in July.
