KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Fair began yesterday with 4-H events, but the rest gets underway today with some special offers, rides, fair food, exhibits and other attractions.
County Parks Director Dave Racowicz says today is Senior Day.
“Seniors in the community can come out to the fair for free. Friday is veteran and active military day. And that’s a half price admission to come to the fair.”
He says they have events and activities for all ages through Saturday.
“So we hope to see you there. We have a lot of fun things for the community to come out and see and enjoy. The rodeo on Saturday night is sort of going to be our big entertainment for the year.”
It’s the first time the county has staged the full-blown summer agricultural festival at the fairgrounds on Lake Street since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gates open at 9:00 a.m. but the food vendors and activities don’t start until around 12:00 p.m., and activities will continue into the early evening.
