Dominique Daurye Motton was sentenced Monday to 16-40 years in prison for three counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, as well as firearms and evidence tampering charges.
December 3, 2024 around 5:15 p.m. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of West Main Street outside a Little Caesar’s Pizza location for a report of
shots fired. The first responding officers found three people suffering from gunshot wounds and a fourth person injured by shrapnel.
KDPS says through an extensive investigation involving digital evidence, ballistic analysis, and forensic evidence, detectives identified Motton and Javion Jamar Jackson as suspects in the shooting. Both suspects were later arrested and charged.
February 4, 2026 a jury convicted Jackson on multiple charges. He was later sentenced to 22 to 40 years in prison.
