BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Battle Creek Police Department has recovered and returned more than $16,000 in stolen property to its rightful owners as a result of an ongoing investigation.
The department’s Road Patrol Division and Special Investigations Unit recently conducted a knock-and-talk investigation at a residence on Q Drive in Bedford Township after receiving information that stolen property may be located at the address.
During the investigation, officers located stolen tools on the property that were positively identified as items connected to a previous police investigation.
Based on evidence developed during the initial contact, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant for the residence.
Investigators recovered more than $16,000 worth of stolen property during the search. The recovered property has since been returned to its rightful owners.
The investigation remains active, and no names are being released at this time. Criminal charges may be sought upon completion of the investigation.
