KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A series of storms both Friday morning and again late Friday afternoon has knocked out power to thousands, including over 17,000 in Kalamazoo County.
About 46,700 Consumers Energy customers in west Michigan and 126,000 statewide were without power as of about 6:30 p.m. Over 9,500 were out in Calhoun County.
Outages stretched to the east into the Lansing and Jackson areas, and to the south in St. Joseph, Branch, and Hillsdale counties.
A 79 mile per hour gust was reported in Portage at 4:05 p.m. Friday.
