NEWBERG TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – For the second time this week the driver of an off road vehicle has died in a crash in southern Michigan.
Just after 1:00 a.m. Wednesday deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal ATV accident in a field off of Kirk Lake Road near Vandalia in Newberg Township.
The investigation showed that 37-year-old Stacie Hershburger-Hebron was operating an ATV in a hay field when she struck a pole causing the ATV to land on its side trapping her under it. She was pronounced dead on the scene from her injuries.
A 19-year-old from Bronson, Carter Pish, was killed Monday morning when his UTV left the roadway and crashed into a tree in Hillsdale County. Another 19-year-old from Homer was also injured in that accident.
