DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – State Representative and former House Speaker Joe Tate of Detroit is ending his bid for the U.S. Senate.
The Detroit Free Press reports Tate wasn’t able to keep pace with the fundraising of other Democratic Party candidates.
State Senator Mallory McMorrow, Congresswoman Haley Stevens, and Abdul El-Sayed each raised around $2-million in the last quarterly report, with Tate raising nearly $193,000.
He was also polling poorly, without much name recognition.
U.S. Senator Gary Peters is not seeking reelection in 2026.
