KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One suspect is behind bars and a second is being sought in connection with a shooting incident Friday afternoon.
Deputies from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department were called to the intersection of East G Ave and Keyes Dr. in Cooper Township on a report of shots fired.
Initial investigation revealed that two suspects had apparently fired several shots at a second group of individuals.
The suspects then fled the scene on foot.
A K9 unit from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and located one of the suspects after a K9 track.
The juvenile suspect was arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home.
The second suspect, also a juvenile, was identified but remains at large.
There were no injuries reported in the incident, but a nearby house was struck by the gunfire.
