ALLEN PARK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Despite signing a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions in March, tight end Josh Hill will reportedly not play for Detroit. Multiple outlets are reporting that Hill has informed the Lions that he plans to retire.
He had played his entire career with New Orleans, where new Detroit coach Dan Campbell was his position coach from 2016-20. The Saints released Hill earlier this year.
The Lions announced yesterday that they have signed long snapper Scott Daly and guard Evan Heim.
Daly entered the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys out of Notre Dame in 2018 and last played in the XFL. Heim is an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota State-Mankato.
