KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A temporary location for the Kalamazoo Farmers Market is set to open this Saturday, May 1.
The reason for the temporary location switch is due to ongoing renovations at the usual Bank Street location. Officials say the updates include refurbished and new Vendor sheds, paved parking lots, new restrooms and more.
While these renovations are in progress, the Farmers Market will be held at Mayors’ Riverfront Park, located at 251 Mill Street, for the entirety of the 2021 season.
Starting May 1, the Kalamazoo Farmers Market will operate from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. each Saturday, regardless of weather conditions, until November 20.
In addition, Tuesday and Thursday markets are set to open in June, and will be open during the following hours:
-
Tuesday Market hours: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
-
Thursday Market hours: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Officials say that this temporary location will be a similar layout to the Bank Street setup, with the addition of 30 extra vendor spots. Shoppers can view a full list of participating vendors at this link.
Residents are reminded that under the COVID-19 pandemic, shoppers and vendors alike are required to wear masks when entering the market.
Pets are also not permitted on the premises unless it is a registered service animal.
