GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The assets of the former Flanagan’s Irish Pub in downtown Grand Rapids have been seized by a judge after owners Benjamin and Martha Penrod defaulted on its loans.
The couple had taken out a $750,000 loan and a $536,000 judgment was issued in September against the business.
Crain’s Grand Rapids Business reports the bank filed paperwork last month to transfer the Class C and Specially Designated Merchant licenses.
Flanagan’s Irish Pub was open from 1981 until June 2025 when it lost its liquor license after they didn’t pay fines of around $1,000.
