Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and Biggby Coffees Partner for “Round Up for Shop with a Cop” Fundraiser November 17-23

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) –  The spirit of giving is brewing in Battle Creek as the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office launches a week-long “Round Up for Shop with a Cop” fundraising campaign in partnership with local Biggby Coffee franchises. The initiative, running from November 17-23, aims to bring holiday magic to underprivileged children in the community.

Customers at six participating Biggby locations will have the opportunity to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, or donate an additional amount, with 100% of the proceeds directly benefiting the Shop with a Cop program.

Shop with a Cop is a heartwarming initiative that pairs local law enforcement officers with children facing financial hardship for a special holiday shopping experience. The program provides children with the chance to select Christmas gifts for themselves and their families, fostering positive relationships between youth and law enforcement while ensuring every child experiences the joy and dignity of the season.

“Shop with a Cop makes Christmas possible for kids who need it most, and we’re proud to support that,” said Biggby Coffee Franchisees Charles Solano and Matt Lemmer.

Sheriff Hinkley expressed his gratitude for the community support, stating, “We’re grateful for Biggby’s partnership and this community’s generosity. Every dollar rounded up helps ensure local children experience the joy and dignity of choosing their own holiday gifts.”

The program is a collaborative effort involving several local law enforcement agencies, including the Albion Department of Public Safety, Battle Creek Police Department, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Emmett Township Department of Public Safety, Kellogg Community College Police Department, Marshall Police Department, Michigan State Police, Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Tribal Police, and the VA Police.
