LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer is appealing the denial of disaster relief funds for northern Michigan by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Whitmer says President Trump authorized FEMA Public Assistance money on July 22 for the March ice storm.
Individual, businesses, and utilities all had their funding requests denied by FEMA.
Presque Isle Electric and Gas Co-Op and Great Lakes Energy are facing up to $150-million each in recovery costs from the ice storm.
