Part of Michigan Avenue in downtown Battle Creek closed

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Part of Michigan Avenue in downtown Battle Creek is closed through tomorrow for contractor work.

The city says the temporary road closure is to allow a crane to put new rooftop units onto the W.K. Kellogg Foundation at 1 East Michigan Avenue.

East Michigan Avenue will be closed between Capital Avenue SW and Division Street North.

Battle Creek Transit’s 3E – Main/Port bus will also need to temporarily detour when heading inbound. The 3E bus will turn left on Hamblin Avenue to go to the Transfer Center.

As a result, three bus stops won’t be served. Those are Michigan Avenue at Division Street at Battle Creek City Hall; Michigan Avenue near the W.K. Kellogg Foundation; and Capital Avenue NE near Jackson Street.
