KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has identified the man killed in the July 5 shooting on West Paterson Street as 34-year-old Kalamazoo resident Leetrail Lamont Bible.
KDPS says the shooting occurred around 3:00 a.m., when officers monitoring a large crowd in the 1200 block of West Paterson Street heard gunfire and responded immediately.
Bible was found on scene and later pronounced deceased. Two other men, ages 29 and 23, sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to their legs.
At least one firearm was recovered, and investigators believe multiple weapons were discharged during the incident.
Detectives say they are actively working on the case but are urging the community to help with the investigation. They say with hundreds of people there when the shooting happened, they are looking for video or photos from that night.
