MARSHALL, MI (WTVB)- A Pennfield man was arrested following an alleged road rage incident Wednesday afternoon. According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 2:20 p.m. Deputies responded to a report of a man with a gun on eastbound I-94 near Mile Marker 108. The caller, a 31-year-old Norton Shores man, reported that the driver of a blue Chevrolet Cruze pointed a firearm at him as he attempted to pass the vehicle on the highway.
The incident appeared to stem from a road rage confrontation, as the suspect was reportedly preventing the victim from passing.
The suspect vehicle exited the highway onto Old U.S. 27, where it was quickly located by deputies and stopped without incident. The driver, a 24-year-old Pennfield resident, was found to be in possession of a handgun that matched the description provided by the victim.
Following an investigation, the suspect was taken into custody and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on charges of Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felonious Assault. No injuries were reported.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Marshall Police Department and Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch Authority.
