KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport is partnering with Talons Out Honor Flight to fly more local veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to honoring those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
This upcoming Honor Flight is set to take place Saturday, October 12, with the veterans and their guardians arriving at the airport between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. before boarding an American Airlines flight to Washington DC. All travelers will return to Kalamazoo by the end of the day.
Airport Director Craig Williams says, “We feel fortunate to be able to help Talons Out conduct this event and honor our veterans.”
The airport last hosted a Talons Out Honor Flight this past May.
Organizers say the Honor Flight Network is a national network comprised of independent hubs that work together to advance the Honor Flight mission. The events give participating veterans the chance to explore dedication sites, share the experience with other veterans, remember others who they have lost, and exchange stories and memories with their peers.
