BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Crews for the City of Battle Creek began the first phase of the 2024 Capital Avenue rehabilitation project this week.
The project will cover a nearly four-mile stretch of Capital, from West Van Buren Street to Rebecca Road.
The work during the Capital Avenue rehab project will be done in three phases:
• Phase 1- Capital Avenue, from West Van Buren Street to Dickman Road
• Phase 2- Capital Avenue, from Dickman Road to Columbia Avenue
• Phase 3- Capital Avenue, from Columbia Avenue to Rebecca Road
While there are no expected complete road closures, temporary lane shifts and sidewalk closures will be in place.
Residents should be aware of workers and equipment in active construction areas.
Battle Creek Transit routes will not be affected during most of the rehab project work.
The project is scheduled to be completed by October 15.
