KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Residents on Kalamazoo’s northeast side aren’t the only ones complaining about a big stink.
Residents in the West Main Hill area say they have also been smelling something unpleasant and it’s gotten worse lately, and they believe it’s coming from Graphics Packaging.
Kalamazoo Vice Mayor Don Cooney says the City should make solving the issue a higher priority.
Commissioner Jeanne Hess says those answers may be forthcoming from environmental and health officials who have been studying the odor.
A major state and federal report on emissions from the paper recycler and the city’s Wastewater Plant and the possible health ramifications is due anytime now.
