BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – No injuries were reported when a fire broke out in what was called a makeshift living area at 349 Hamblin Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
The Battle Creek Fire Department says the fire, which was reported at 12:56 p.m., was caused by contents that were too close to an unattended wood stove.
Fire officials say the persons who were occupying the structure were safely outside when firefighters arrived.
Damages were estimated at nearly $6,500.
