SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – UPDATE: WWMT reported Tuesday afternoon that the driver in this hit-and-run case has been found.
According to the report, Michigan State Police troopers found the suspect SUV thanks to a citizen’s tip, which indicated that the driver was at a home on Hackman Road near Michigan Route 66.
While the crash remains under investigation, officials say the suspect, a man from Sturgis, is cooperating.

Local law enforcement agencies are looking for a silver Chevy Equinox after it struck and injured three children late Monday afternoon in Branch County’s Sherwood Township.
The incident in the area of Ralston and Arney Roads was reported at about 3:45 p.m. as the children were riding their bikes.
The Michigan State Police say the vehicle was traveling north on Ralston when it left the road and struck the three siblings who ranged in age from seven to 14.
Additional fire units were called to the scene to set up a landing zone for a medical helicopter.
State Police say a 14-year-old boy was flown from the scene by AirCare to a hospital in Kalamazoo while a seven year old boy was taken by LifeCare Ambulance to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
Troopers say they found their 14 year old sister had been standing with the boys at the time they were struck and she was taken by family for additional examination.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department and Life Care Ambulance were also called in.
Authorities say the vehicle being sought was last seen heading west on Blossom Road. It was occupied by one person with extensive damage to the right side. It was also missing the passenger side rear view mirror and the right headlight. The front bumper cover was last seen dragging on the road.
